the moment aly checked the iditarod site, she began to scream. and like a bat out of hell, she tore out of her room. with her celebratory streamers, no less. what, you think she wouldn't prepare for something like this?

there are more screams of happiness as she tosses the streamers around.]]

He won! He won! Lance won! I knew it, I knew he would win! FOUR TIME WINNER!

[[she has, briefly, lost her mind.]]

[[aly is sitting in her room, with her dogs (all of them...) obsessively refreshing the runner list for the 2010 iditarod race with wide eyes. she seems pretty happy right now, as her favorite to win, lance mackey (alaska raised and three time iditarod champ!), is in second place. 

she's very into this. there are bags of chips and snacks, empty glasses, and some plates stacked up. she's usually not this messy or negligent, but for the iditarod, aly has to manage her time wisely so she doesn't miss a single thing. people would notice she only spends a couple of hours outside her room, if any at all, while this is happening. she leaves her place to get food, sleep, shower, and (rarely) talk to other people. talk about a fanatic.

So, this weekend I'll be going to Kansas City for Naka Kon. I'm pretty sure the hotel has internet, but I'll be too busy freaking the hell out about everything to do much on here (they have so many panels, guys, so many panels). Plus, I don't know if I'm taking my laptop (haven't bothered to ask mom if she needs it this weekend or not). So! I will try to respond to any tags and such, but it'll be pretty slow.

 [[she sits on the floor with annabelle in her room, half playing and half examining her. she seems pretty social and active, as far as a baby goes. she sits and watches as the baby giggles and grabs at the soft, stuffed bear aly managed to provide. she takes it in her tiny hands and begins to gum at the ear, which causes aly to laugh a little herself.]] You're so cute. [[she sighs a little, and continues to watch her. time passes, and little annabelle finally tires herself out and begins to doze with the teddy bear.]]

Finally done? You have a lot of energy for someone so little. [[she grabs the small blanket she set beside her, and gently puts it over her.]] Sleep well.

Hmm? What's going on today? [[she picks up a paper on the kitchen counter and reads through it as she sips at a mug of hot cocoa. there's a certain article that brings a smile to her face. when she's done, she sets the paper down and takes another sip. possibly smirking, even.]]
